Our Electrician, Jan goes the Extra Mile: Taking on an Epic 215-Mile Running Race Across Scotland for Charity

Jan, our electrician, is an exceptional athlete with a big heart. He's decided to embark on an ambitious challenge by participating in the Race Across Scotland, a single continuous 215-mile running race with 7648m of ascent, which is no small feat by any measure. Jan is doing this to raise funds for a charity close to his heart, Young Epilepsy, as his daughter was diagnosed with Rolandic Beging Epilepsy when she was just 8 years old.

Jan's story is one of determination, passion, and dedication. He started running in 2016, initially with the goal of keeping fit and healthy. He slowly progressed from 3k runs to 5k, 10k, half-marathons, and eventually marathons and ultra-marathons. He has run countless half-marathons, eight marathons, and four ultra-marathons, the longest being a 100-mile run. And now, he's taking on the Race Across Scotland, which is sure to test his limits both physically and mentally.

The Race Across Scotland is an incredibly challenging endurance race that requires runners to cover 215 miles of hilly terrain, all while battling fatigue, pain, and mental exhaustion. But Jan is determined to complete this race and raise funds for Young Epilepsy, which provides support and assistance to young people with epilepsy.

Jan is a true inspiration to us all. He's pushing himself to the limit for a noble cause, and we're all cheering him on. We wish him the best of luck with his training and the journey ahead, which will require a great deal of mental toughness and resilience. Jan, you've got this, and we're all behind you every step of the way.

If you're interested in following Jan's journey, you can visit our blog to learn more about his training and preparation for the race. And if you'd like to contribute to Jan's fundraising efforts for Young Epilepsy, please visit his fundraising page to make a donation. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people with epilepsy. Please donate here >>
